United Way Campaign
With the annual
Fall UNITED WAY CAMPAIGN not far off, your Charitable Foundation
is asking all Brother Knights that they are able to designate
our Nova Scotia Knights of Columbus Charitable Foundation for a
portion of or all of the donations via their payroll deduction
plan with their employers.
It is through
the generosity of our Brother Knights that we are able to
provide financial support to the charities approved by our
Councils during our annual State Convention.
Your
assistance in informing your members is very much appreciated.
Warmest regards

Appointment District Master
At our
Supreme Assembly meetings last Thursday in Washington SK Jim
MacDonald was appointed District Master Nova Scotia for the term
1 September 2010, 31 August 2012. I ask for your full support in
recruiting new members to become Sir Knights during the upcoming
Columbian year. We need more Sir Knight’s and we need more in
full regalia. Last year we had seven assemblies who did not
recruit a new member, let’s have all 14 assemblies recruit this
year
I thank Sir
Knight’s Reg Bonner and Henry Ziabek for putting there names
forward and I hope you will continue to support the Fourth
Degree as you have done so in the past. Just a note on dress we
are getting better but there is still work to be done. At the
opening mass for the Supreme Convention there were 201 in the
color guard when we formed up to be inspected two hours before
the mass and when the inspection was over we had 186 meaning
that 15 were removed for various dress irregularities including
a Master and Marshall, so as you can see the Supreme Knight is
sticking by his word to have one exemplification, one drill
manual and one uniform.
On another
note when sending in fourth degree pictures to supreme hoping to
have them appear in Columbian magazine insure that the dress is
correct on all members in the picture or the pictures will not
be accepted. We had a patriotic award submission rejected
because of dress so lets pay more attention and have our guard
commanders check dress more closely at all events.
